Cogeneration Gas turbine air intakes

 
   

Industries often use gas turbines in order to autonomously produce their energy needs, the models employed are usually those that burn natural gas, transforming it into electric power.
In this application You need great quantities of air that are conveyed to the different turbine stages. Problems may occur if the incoming turbulent air does not have the necessary cleanliness regarding particle size and humidity, all of these having strong effects on power output and maintenance costs.

Filtration in this application has to evaluate the following specific parameters:

  • position of the turbine and its air intake/s (rural/ industrial/ costal/ desert region)
  • turbulent air flows at high velocity
  • powder type, composition, particle size and percentage of humidity vary throughout the seasons and affect filter life
